Over the years we have done quite a few events. Here are the galleries with inspiring images from World Cyanotype Day, World Anthotype Day, our Anna Atkins tribute event and our Card event. Enjoy!

 

Publication of our 25th anniversary book, Art and Artists

In 2006 we released the first Art & Artists book. For our 25th anniversary we launched edition 2.

Our annual calendar event started in 2009 and ran until 2013; it paused in 2014 due to the loss of our printing partner. A decade passed (!!!), and in 2023, we picked it up again.

Now, each year, members unite around a theme to celebrate alternative photographic processes, fostering creativity and community. Past themes have included tributes to Anna Atkins (2023) and Sir John Herschel (2025), as well as creative challenges such as Composites (2024) and Colour (coming in 2026). This members-only event encourages experimentation and sharing. The results become beautiful, inspiring publications – calendars, journals, and books – created by artists, for artists, and shared with everyone to spread our passion for alternative photography. 2025

In 2022, we launched World Anthotype Day since we thought this wonderful process deserves its own day. It has been going steady ever since. There is no theme; instead, participants are encouraged to find new emulsions, contribute and co-lab to help expand the emulsion database. Since exposure times can be VERY long, entries can be made from one Anthotype Day to the next, throughout the year. Open for entries from the 1st of August until the last Saturday in October.

World Cyanotype Day 2026: Theme CULTIVATING COMMUNITY

• World Cyanotype Day 2026 gallery – Global Blueprint – Open 26th of September 2026 – 2 October 2026!
• World Cyanotype Day 2025 gallery – Cultivating Community. On the 27th of September 2025, 267 artists IN the community visualised the theme “Cultivating Community” with wonderful cyanotypes! Watch the 2025 movie.
• World Cyanotype Day 2024 gallery – Enchantment. On the 28th of September 2024, again, 378 artists joined in from 55 countries! The theme was “Enchantment”. Spellbinding cyanotypes for us to enjoy! Watch the 2024 movie.
• World Cyanotype Day 2023 gallery – Inheritance. The 30th of September 2023 was World Cyanotype Day, The theme of the year was Inheritance. Watch the 2023 movie.
• World Cyanotype Day 2022 gallery – Enlighten. The 24th of September 2022 was World Cyanotype Day 2022. The theme of the year was “Enlighten” and 333 cyanotypers from 40 countries took part! Watch the 2022 movie.
• World Cyanotype Day 2021 gallery – Rejuvenation. The 25th of September 2021 was World Cyanotype Day. The theme of the year was “Rejuvenation” and 427 artists (!!!) from 54 countries took part. Enjoy all this wonderful inspiration. Watch the 2021 movie.
