Amount: 1 tablespoon of curcuma, 1⁄2 tablespoon paprika, 4 leaves of pink carnation, 4 leaves of African tulip tree
Extracted by: Mixing, cooking
Thinner: Spiritus (99% alcohol)
Application: Brushing
Layers: 2
Substrate: Printer paper, 120 gsm
Created with: Negative OHP Paper
Exposure: 4 days, August, summer 2023
Contrast: ✿ (Low)
Challenges or observations: During the preparation phase, I initially mixed the 10 leaves of pink carnation 4 leaves of African tulip tree and I placed this mixture with spiritus. I noticed that the colour changed slightly, so I had obtained some pigmentation from the leaves. Then, I cooked the coffee and added it to the paprika and turmeric. I observed that, if I used a larger quantity of alcohol, the intensity of the pigmentation decreased. Turmeric has a very strong pigment. I. noticed that the sheet had a slightly yellow tint, indicating that turmeric possesses a pigment that was significantly stronger than the other ingredients. It’s truly robust.
Additional information: The mixture was carefully prepared; I passed it through a coffee filter. As a result, I got a pigment-rich solution. I applied this solution to the sheet and left it on the windowsill. The challenge was the lack of sunlight due to the rather cold weather. Still, the result wasn’t bad.

The purpose of the day is to build a large resource where artist can learn which pigmenets and plants that work and draw inspiration from other artists' work. The reference books can be found here:

Volume 1 contains 60 unique anthotype emulsions from 103 artists taking part from 31 countries.
Anthotype Emulsions, Volume 1 – The collective research from photographers on World Anthotype Day 2022

Volume 2 contains 100 unique anthotype emulsions from 139 artists taking part from 31 countries.
