Carrot (Daucus carota) and Turnip (Brassica napobrassica), fermented purple juice for anthotype by İlhan Sadıkoğlu Carrot (Daucus carota) and Turnip (Brassica napobrassica), fermented purple juice anthotype by İlhan SadıkoğluLayers: 2
Substrate: Magnani 1404, Pescia 100% cotton paper, 130 gsm
Created with: Photogram of a dry weed
Exposure: 3 days, August, summer, 2023
Contrast: ✿✿ (Medium)
Challenges or observations: I applied the fermented purple carrot juice to the paper with the help of a brush, and exposed it for three days. The exposure time was extended because it was cloudy. I was able to get results in a shorter time in my previous attempts.
Additional information: Fermented purple carrot juice (Şalgam) is a traditional drink consumed alongside meals in the south of Turkey. The carrot is purple but sometimes called black carrot. The full scientific name is Daucus carota ssp. sativus var. atrorubens Alef. The full scientific name of this turnip variety is Brassica napus var. napobrassica.
