Uppsala Photographic Society was founded in 1941 and like all “camera clubs” it has had its ups and downs over the years. Some years back the number of members has started to increase rapidly and the studio, photographic gallery and two darkrooms run by the society are back in frequent use. Several of the members have started gum printing and collaborative work on cyanotypes, photopolymer, carbon and vandykes. Maria Ahlberg has, so far, led two gum printing courses, and more workshops in alt. photo techniques are planned.

Dear Upsalla Photographic Society
I am a photographer living in London and a member of the London Independent Photography group. I’m visiting Uppsala from tomorrow Tuesday 16 July to Saturday 20 July and would like to take this opportunity to find out what is going on about photography in Uppsala and, if possible, meet other photographers.
I’m myself a documentary photographer and in the moment work mainly in Brazil. You can learn more about me from my website http://www.angelikaberndt.com
Please let me know of any ideas you have what you think a photographer should see, do, hear in Uppsala.
An enjoyable, accomplished and tight collection of work. Thank you.
