“Passiflora Leaf” by Bernd Hutschenreuther
Country: Dresden, Germany
Parts used: Saffron stigmas
Amount: 10 stigmas
Extracted by: Soaking
Thinner: Tap water and Isopropanol
Application: Brushing
Layers: 1
Substrate: Fotopaper for printers
Created with: Photogram of a leaf
Exposure: 3 days, partly cloudy sky, August, summer 2023
Contrast: ✿✿ (Medium)
Challenges or observations: It depends much on the intensity of light. I used a normal leaf, not dried. The sunshine was strong in the beginning, so there was some condensed water on the paper around the leaf. That speeded up the bleaching and increased the leaf contour’s contrast.

Additional information: At the beginning I used fewer stigmas and extracted the colour in water. This resulted in low contrast and thin colour.
