Rebecca Bruyn has been photographing images that reflect her love of color and light for over 35 years. The subjects she chooses represent her pursuit towards a balance between light and shapes, creating subtle moods and dramatic contrasts.

In 1999, she found herself torn between two very different approaches, the simple cyanotype process and the more technologically complex digital imaging.

In 2000 she took a cyanotype workshop and since then Rebecca has dedicated her time to this alternative process. Using a paint brush to apply the solution, she strives to make each piece unique capturing a visual sense of the past. It may be a moment that reflects a feeling of simplicity and beauty of the outer cape or a classic view of a known landmark. Her work is an expression of a love of light and a passion of history.

In 2010 she won a competition for the 100th anniversary of the building of the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown, Massachusetts. This image was then used as a wine label on a special edition of Truro Vineyards wine called Century.
