Shows: Cyanotypes and Vandykes.
Oliviero Olivieri was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, he is an internationally recognized photographer who has been exhibiting and publishing his work for over 30 years, following his photographic studies at the Central Art School London.
He has traveled the world pursuing numerous independent and assigned projects. His work can be seen in all the major travel and lifestyle magazines, he works for Condè Nast and he is a steady contributor of Traveller Magazine UK & Wallpaper Magazine.
Committed to analog, but not as a purist, but simply because it is more meditative since it is slower and allows more time for concentrating – and therefore feels more in balance with the elements. Digital is his notebook, and when he decides to make things indelible then he uses film.
Oliviero Olivieri’s best time spent is when he switches on the radio in his darkroom and starts printing. Recently he discovered the traditional pioneering ways of transferring negatives to paper. He finds it a wonderful way to obtain an image using only sunlight to expose it.
“I am fascinated by the fact that photography only needs the two elements; time and light.”
