“Sonho” by Naya Gonçalves
Country: Brasília, Brazil
Parts used: Fruits, stem
Amount: 400 grams
Extracted by: Squeezing
Thinner: None
Application: Brushing with paint brush
Layers: 4
Substrate: Canson paper, 200 gsm
Created with: Photogram of dried petals, flowers and leaves
Exposure: 5 days, July, winter 2023
Contrast: ✿✿ (Medium)
Challenges or observations: The pigment started to react while I was still applying the layers, which resulted in some early yellow stains. I believe that, if the weight of the paper was a little higher, I could have applied more layers and the finishing color and contrast would have been higher.
Additional information: Artwork produced during anthotype workshop organized by LAFA (Laboratory of Alternative Photography), coordinated by Professor Ruth Sousa and taught by anthotype Expert Narmada Sugasti, at the University of Brasília, Brazil, in July 2023.
