Melody Locke, from Houston, Texas, started experimenting with lumen prints in 2015 and devotes most of her time in the darkroom to this process. See her work here.
From: Houston, Texas, USA.
Shows: Lumen prints.
In 2007, Melody Locke began attending Glassell School of Art, where she photographed rural and urban landscapes with black & white and infrared film. She processed her film and developed silver gelatin prints in a traditional wet darkroom.
Following an injury to her right hand in 2015, she started experimenting with lumen printing. To create her prints, she likes to experiment with a variety of props and solutions. Although she still enjoys the traditional darkroom process and working with film, she devotes most of her time to lumen photography.
Melody Locke recently started creating fabric designs and uses her lumen prints as the basis for her designs.
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. The injury that forced me to stop my traditional photography activities afforded me the opportunity to experiment with lumen photography.”
