Jon Wollenhaupt has been an obsessed photographer for about 20 years. He took his first workshop in alternative print processes with Cotton Miller in the summer of 2019 at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. He is currently working on a body of work that will be printed with alternative processes including cyanotype, platinum palladium over cyanotype, and gum bichromate. He feels these alternative processes provide an essential expressive quality to the imagery he is working with. His images are captured digitally after which I create a digital negative. Recently, he took a one-on-one workshop via Zoom with alternative print processes expert Jill Enfield. Jon Wollenhaupt’s education includes a degree in fine art from Grossmont College and further studies in fine art at San Francisco State University.
“The camera allows me to capture fleeting moments that reflect what is most significant in the wide spectrum of human emotions. It is a pursuit that places truth before beauty.”
