Jim Hanson

As of 2014 Jim Hanson resides in Northern Michigan. The surrounding area has bountiful opportunities to photograph beautiful landscapes and all sorts of wildlife!
From: Royal Oak, Michigan, USA.
Shows: Cyanotypes and vandykes.

Jim has an affinity for art, nature, animals and enjoys outside activities. As an adolescent, he culled his artistic side sketching in charcoals and pencil.
Later, his military experience took him from southern Arizona and onto Alaska. Flying reconnaissance missions as Technical Observer his duties included using cameras and infrared devices.

Post military he completed a BBA degree at the University Of Alaska in Fairbanks and later went onto grad school at Thunderbird Global School of Management in Arizona, earning a MBA. His career took him to the many global destinations.
The combination of his love for the arts, the technical military training and his travels led to his current pursuits in photography.

While completing the Associates Degree in Photographic Technology at Oakland Community College in Royal Oak, MI., he began concentrating on early 19th century Alternative Photographic Processes. Through Alternative photography he developed a niche for his work, creating a personalized service.
Jim has exhibited and won awards for his photographic works.

Jim Hanson takes a client’s old family memorabilia photography and/or portrait photography and creates a one- of- a- kind Cyanotype or Vandyke print. Regal and classic is a good way to describe the vintage look of his fine art photography. These unique prints become family heirlooms, suitable for framing.

“The combination of my love for art, the technical military training and my travels led to my current pursuits in photography.”
