“Pão de Açúcar” by Daniela Felix
Country: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Parts used: Grape
Amount: About 10 grapes
Extracted by: Mortar, then soaked for 6 days with sugar and grain alcohol
Thinner: Grain alcohol
Application: Brushing
Layers: 3
Substrate: Watercolour paper
Created with: Laser printed OHP positive
Exposure: 11 hours, August, winter, 2023
Contrast: ✿ (Low)
Challenges or observations: Exposed in full daylight in direct sun. Suggest exposing for less time. Some parts of the purple emulsion turned white on the paper.
Additional information: I also tried the same emulsion, putting the grape directly on the paper instead of using a Laser printed OHP positive. With the fruit and its skin, the color became much more vivid.
