“Live long and prosper” by Christiane Schatz
Country: Kiel, Germany
Parts used: Petals
Amount: Handful for each print (two flower heads)
Extracted by: Mortar
Thinner: Alcohol (vodka)
Application: Brushing
Layers: 4
Substrate: Watercolour paper, 300 gsm
Created with: Photogram of ginkgo leaves
Exposure: 12 days, July, summer 2023
Contrast: ✿✿ (Medium)
Challenges or observations: With just a little thinner, there was a very nice dark purple hue, but no image showed after the exposure. Therefore, I added more vodka, which resulted in a very delicate, light shade. I like the contrast after exposure, the resulting hue a little less pronounced. The paper did not absorb the emulsion application evenly. Next time, I will use better paper.
Additional information: For the exposure, there were ten rainy days and two days with a little sunshine. For such a rainy time, the result is really good.
