From: Baku, Azerbaijan.
Shows: Cyanotypes, Aged and bleached prints.
Fidan Nazim qizi lives in Baku, Azerbaijan. She received her university education in librarianship and information. After working in a library for years, she worked in accounting, but in recent years has focused entirely on photography. By studying alternative processes, she prints photos in his home laboratory. This alternative method is called cyanotype, which is an ancient method that has been used since 1843. In addition, she can age them by using other chemical means to print photos.
The main thing that Fidan Nazim wants to achieve with the help of photography is to collect indelible memories. Because the most important thing in our lives is to capture our pleasant moments and what we see. How do artists create their work, using different colors? She is looking at an photo. The harmony is what she sees, the scale. Basically, she wants to be able to give these sincere feelings of the past in their photos.
At the her home laboratory she also makes aged handmade prints with coffee on vintage papers. Cyanotype photography has a very deep place in Fidan Nazim’s life. She believes that the reason for such a place is that it remains indelible in our memories. She lives in her own world with cyanotype photos. It reminds of any of my dreams with silhouettes, perhaps my fantasy world. She is currently working as an editor and photographer.
Fidan Nazim has exibited widely and also been interviewed for several magazines.
“I like the challenge in photography. I think this is the main condition – we must attribute our thoughts and feelings to photos. For me photography – is the depiction of different feelings, emotions and also silence…”
