Canadian Émilie Léger is an award-winning illustrator and visual artist working in chlorophyll prints and cyanotypes.

Émilie Léger was born in 1987 in Vaudreuil, in the suburbs of Montréal (Québec, Canada). She is a professional artist, illustrator and a cultural worker.
During her years in the digital art field, she became an illustrator. She won five Aurora-Boréal literature prizes for her work as an illustrator in the Québec book publishing industry, having created about 50 book covers locally and worldwide. She is a member of Illustration Québec.

As a visual artist, Émilie took part in nearly 40 group or solo exhibitions. She is notably a member of many artist-run centres in Québec, in Ontario as well as arts and culture related associations. She is a professional artist. Her artistic approach is currently mainly oriented towards alternative photography processes.

As a cultural worker, she is a communications and development agent at an arts and culture Council in her living and working area in Québec. She is also the person behind many social media arts and culture related communities. She is dedicated to the diffusion of arts and culture information in the digital dimension.

She will be attending the Master’s degree of visual and media arts in 2023 at Université du Québec à Montréal and wishes to develop an approach in intervention research in the alternative photography field.

“Alternative photography processes for me are about having a lot of satisfaction in the process and learning. These processes make me very fragile, because experimenting is a very emotional, personal and spontaneous experience.”
