David Jeffery worked on and off as a photographer for museums and archaeology for a few years after college. He then worked as a photo technician helping Fine Art students at the Hornsey College of Art (now Middlesex University) in London, UK. That’s where his interest in alternative photography grew working mainly with gum and cyanotypes that later on included occasionally dabbling with pinholes, bromoil, dye transfer, screen printing, etching, photo litho and photogravure.
He moved to Sweden and eventually worked as a technical writer and translator keeping personal photography as a side interest. After retirement, he became a member of an artists’ printmaking workshop and nowadays works mainly with photopolymers and cyanotypes, often as mixed-media hybrids. However, apart from these occasional detours into alternative photographic printmaking, fine-art photography remains as the underlying interest with personal works occasionally published over the years in, for example, Creative Camera Yearbook and ‘Black&White’ magazine and shown in various small galleries in USA, UK, Sweden and presently on the ‘LensCulture’ website.
