Challenges or observations: I took a beautiful free photograph of Ginkgo Biloba leaves, edited it for maximum contrast, and ordered a negative printed on OHP film. I have always prepared the emulsion for this plant using alcohol, but I’m curious to experiment with boiling water to see if the colour changes. Although the flower itself is purple, the emulsion turns a lovely turquoise – my favourite colour. It requires several layers, as the pigment is weak, but with patience, a beautiful result can be achieved.
Additional information: This plant, known locally as tufted vetch or cow vetch, is common in my region and poisonous. I love how this anthotype turned out.
