October 22 – December 10 Thursdays 6:30 – 9:30 pm EST.

Details of the event:
This online studio course explores a selection of alternative photographic processes through ecological and material approaches to image making. Working with anthotypes, lumen family processes, and handmade photographic developers derived from everyday materials, students create images while experimenting with the relationships between light, chemistry, and the living world. Historic and contemporary examples of alternative process photography supplement students’ hands-on experimentation. Through experimentation, play, and technical refinement, students investigate a range of alternative processes while expanding their understanding of photography beyond conventional darkroom methods. This course is ideal for photographers, artists, educators, and makers interested in experimental processes, expanded photography, and ecological approaches to image making.
