Alejandro Gómez de Tuddo is an internationally renowned mexican artist who lives in Rome and Mexico City. He studied photography at the École Nationale de la Photographie di Arles and at the International Center of Photography (ICP) of New York, cinematography at the New York University (NYU). His works (photography, video, installations) are included in public and private collections of contemporary art. He is the founder and director of the publishing house Uroboros-Basilisco in Mexico City, author of a large number of art books, among them the volumes “Guadalupe” (2004) and “Vmbra Profvnda Svmvs” (Quorum prize 2005 for the best art book of the year).
His works were shown in numerous exhibitions, amongst the others: Galleria nazionale d’arte moderna, Mercato di Traiano, Università degli Studi di Roma III, International Festival of Photography, Romaeuropa Festival, Officine fotografiche, Istituto Italo Latinoamericano (IILA)-Fondazione Volume, all in Rome; Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico City, Centro de las Artes de Monterrey, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo AZ of Mexico; Arte Pará, Brasil; Califia Gallery, Futura Gallery, Czech Republic; Ghetty Museum, Los Angeles; Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneos, Costa Rica; Latin Collector Gallery, New York.
He held conferences about art and photography at well-known Academies and Institutions and took part in several biennial art shows and international festivals, for example: Biennale Adriatica di Arti Nuove, ARCO Madrid, MACO Città del Messico, FORUM Monterrey, Festival Internazionale di Cinema, Morelia and San Sebastian, Berliner Festspiele.
Working with Alejandro Gómez de Tuddo means to expand the own perception, to discover astonishing motives, touching subjects, to experience new photographic technics and to reflect on the composition and the significance of the own images.
The master class is limited to max. 8 or 10 participants to supervise each person individually.
During a first theoretic phase esthetic concepts and questions of composition will be discussed, also by reference to works of master photographs.
In a second phase each one is asked to develop a personal project – preferably adequate to the tuscan surrounding – which will be discussed initially. If somebody is working already on a project, the master class offers the opportunity to pursue and perfect it.

A portable hard disk to file images and / or a laptop. Be sure to have a card reader to download the photographs from camera or card.
