Historical photographic methods in use today – the art, processes and techniques of alternative photography. Photography as it should be: hands on, fun and inspiring.
Cristiana Setaro was born in Italy and moved to the UK in 2000.
She took up photography in 2006 and has since then been committed to using black and white film, specializing in portraiture. A while ago she began experimenting with lith printing. The photographs shown here are all realized through this technique.
"Lith is a creative and mysterious process. You can never be sure about the results, the variables are often unpredictable. At times it adds to the picture and it reveals its true nature, other times pure B&W seems more appropriate. Comparing alternatives can be interesting in itself; it's worth to switch on the red bulb and see what happens."
