Michael Berkowitz is a New York based artist and fine art photographer. He started doing photography about 8 years ago, inspired by a book of 18th century photographs. He has been working in silver gelatin but long felt his work would look best done in alternative processes, which he is now beginning to explore.
"Like Victorian studio photographers, I create elaborate tableaux, make costumes, jewelry, props and sets and photograph my subjects in them."
