I am printing a canvas 24x36, tried simpley coating it exposing it and washing it and the chemical washed completly off the paper.

I got another canvas sanded it down to get rid of the gesso, starched it, remixed chemicals to make sure they were right then exposed it and same thing!, it washed right off the canvas, any suggestions or help would be amazing thank you so much!!

It's not a substrate I've tried so I'm gonna guess that somehow it's still too a slick surface. Cyanotype emulsion normally sinks into a paper base. I have an article in an old photo mag that gives instructions for making cyanotypes on glass. This involves sizing the plate with glass AND adding a small amount of gelatin to the cyanotype emulsion. I've tried this method on metal with some success. It's worth looking in Christopher James book, substrates other than paper are well covered there.

Hi, do you have any more information on doing cyanotype on glass? I´m having a terrible time with it! I have used a gelatin / chrom alum mix and traditional cyanotype, but most of it washes off leaving a very feint image. I´m just about to try gesso with a gelatin size...
