I'm very humble in suggesting this since I'm the new kid on the block. However, I think that the various techniques should be separated in more detailed cathegories before it's too late. I mean: now that the Forum is quite new, to move the few already existing topics to a new cathegory would be a breeze. But later, it will get more and more impossible by the day. I know a pair of extremely good forums made almost unusable as a reference by lack of classification, and that's a pity.

To have a specific cathegory for each technique would be perfect, in my opinion (I wouldnt' worry to have too many cathegories in the "processes" section: after all this Forum IS about alternative techniques, so most of the space should be given to them). As a second chance, it wouldn't be bad to at least group similar techniques together (bichromates, other non-silver processes, print-out silver processes, developed silver processes, etc).

Well, that was just a thought. But honestly, I really believe that this should be done until it's easy to do... Don't worry if some cathegories will stay empty for a while: someone will post a topic, one of these days...

Hello!
This is a good idea, and we have thought of it. We just wanted to wait and see which processes became the most popular topics. Keep posting on your favourite process, and you'll soon find there is a forum for it! :-)

Now there is a "Carbon and Carbro" and a "Liquid emulsion" forum too.

As a practitioner of photogravure, I endorse this suggestion of technique-specific forums, for the reason given: It will be a lot easier to search for needed information if it is categorized in that way.
