I have been researching carbon prints and photogravures. I have been unable to discern how one determines the difference in certain instances. Were brown or sepia inks used for carbon prints or photogravures in the early 1900's? If they were used for both processes, how can the difference in a print be determined? Also, does anyone know of good sources to learn of specific publishing or printing companies of carbon prints, photogravures, and other types of prints, dated to the late 1800's and/or early 1900's? I am particularly interested in ones located in the Eastern U.S. Any help would be greatly appeciated--thank you!
