I'm new to the field of alternative photography, and am interested in trying out the cyanotype process. However, most of the information on the process that I have found relates to making prints or photograms. Has anybody has had success in using cyanotype paper directly in a pinhole camera?

you'll need plenty of time. my pinhole camera exposures run 2-5 seconds in direct sunlight with iso 100 film. my cyanotype contact prints take 3 minutes in direct sun. i don't know how to do the math, but it sounds like an all day exposure to me, maybe longer.
try it and let us know. the only way to be sure.

The most I could get is a print of the sun's path out a window with a 3 day exposure on the old chemistry. If you can get more I would love to hear about it. Apparently if you dilute the chemistry a faster exposure can be had but with less maximum density.
Good luck and post any results please!
Eric

I am also interested in experimenting with pinhole cameras and cyanotypes and am interested in any results and tips that you come up with...

I am curious by the suggestion of diluting the chemisty, Eric - do you mean with water or with other chemicals?

According to the main site cyanotypes in pinholes don't really work out.
The new cyanotype formula is supposed to expose much faster.
I know that developing in an acid halves exposure time. The article I read states using acid and I have used citric acid and have found that it does indeed take approximately half the time. Add Eric's method of diluting the sensitiser (not sure but guess you just add more water) and you may well cut the time down considerably.
Take into account though that I have not tried the acid technique with the new formula and don't know if it will work with that.
