Tom has been interested in photography since he started high school and after a few college classes he purchased and antique field camera which he still uses. He feels that the slow deliberate style of work suited his choice of subjects, and his feelings for them.Tom started working seriously with photography in 1988 and was attracted by mountains and trails he had been climbing.
Later in his carrer he concentrated his efforts on still life. He works in a variety of styles and techniques, creating still life, cityscapes, pinhole landscapes and photograms in several different processes. Tom lives (and work) in Simi Valley, just north
of Los Angeles, California, USA.
Tom says about his work:
Most of my work is an attempt to explore the peace and beauty so often overlooked in today's hectic world. My intention is to let the subject, and my reactions to it, dictate my style and technique.
