Steve Lewis has been an avid photographer since childhood. After graduation from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in 19th century European history, Steve renewed his love of photography and began studying historic photographic processes. In addition to the kallitype process, Steve also works in cyanotype, Van Dyke, palladium and platinum processes. “Although the intrinsic beauty of these old processes helps define my vision, I still consider myself primarily a photographer. I do not think of my work of art and I can seldom explain it. I’m just to busy taking pictures”

Steve’s photographs and prints are found in collections throughout the United States and Europe.
