Quinn says: I started thinking about how intangible and detatched my work had become. It felt like a mechanical process to me. I wanted to be involved with both the people I photographed and the process I was using, to be deliberate and spontaneous all at once. Wet-Plate Collodion is the ideal process for me, it is a 19th century, forgotten, discarded, dangerous and very difficult process. After discovering the Wet Plate Collodion process Quinn feels there is a connection with the people he photographs and the process itself. It has brought me back to my life's journey with photography.
