Neila prints in cyanotype from 3 dimensional negatives. She graduated from Tyler School of Art, Temple University with an MFA in photography. For the past several years, she has been teaching at small art centers in the western Philadelphia suburbs.
The series shown here evolved from old clothes her daughters had worn as children. Almost exclusively, female clothing is chosen. Neila names each piece to give a presence to the work.
My work is not about realism, but about the reality we each hold within. I look at what is seen, what is hidden, and what is revealed.
