Marydorsey is a photographer and educator living in Topeka, Kansas, USA. She teaches beginning and advanced black and white photography and alternative processes at Washburn University. She has shown her work nationally and internationally.
Marydorsey's work concerns nostalgia, and the yearning for a slower lifestyle focusing on relationships, reflections, and the simple acts of living. Marydorsey uses gum bichromate, used in the early 20th century, to deliver her message.
"[Gum bichromate] is a time-consuming, hands-on process that takes several days to complete, and in itself, speaks of slower times."
