Martyn has been making pictures since he was 10 years old. He has a BA in photography from Napier University in Edinburgh, a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art from Glasgow School of Art and an MA in photography from the University of Derby. He has exhibited widely in Europe and the USA and his work is in public and private collections.
Martyn has conducted workshops throughout Britain and is continuing to do so in France where he now lives and works. He became interested in the alternative processes in 1988 after encounters with Pradip Malde and Mike Ware.
He was profoundly influenced by the quietly philosophical approach of Pradip and Mike's technical rigour, enthusiasm and skill.

I am fascinated by the alchemy of photography as well as the beauty of the print. Together they allow me to see a little further.
