John currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland about 40 miles north of Washington, D.C. He has lived there for most of his life except for a 5 year spell in New Orleans and a year in the Bahamas.
John is almost selft-taught, with just had one basic darkroom course as his formal photographic education, most of his knowledge has been gleaned from those kind enough to share their techniques and experiences through the Internet.

John says about his work:

Although I have been practicing photography for years, it is only in the past few years that the hobby has become a passion... I am drawn to both old methods and old subjects, preferring simple methods such as pinhole to capture the ageless character I find so appealing.
