Jan was born in 1970 in Skierniewice, Poland. He moved to Warsaw in 1989 to study biochemistry at Warsaw University. He works as a molecular biologist. Photography is his hobby. With encouraging support from his wife, he uses photography as a "discovery tool", which helps him see the beauty of the world.
Jan's photography focuses mainly on natural forms and patterns using lithprinting as a medium, well suited to abstract the form from its meaning.

"Lithprinting allows me to highlight the form and architecture."

Jan also uses silver-based black and white printing and gum bichromate. To suit his "meditative" approach, he takes his photographs with a vintage view camera.
