Dale started photographing a little over two years ago with a basic black and white night course at San Francisco's Photography Center, currently studying photography at San Francisco's City College and with plans to continue on at a large institution.

Dale's day job is in the technology field but thinks our society values new technology too highly and too easily discards old technologies and has a facination with combining various technologies to make art.

The images are shot with an old Mamiya RB67 onto B&W Polaroid film, then scanned and adjusted in the computer. Printed out on transparency they become the negatives for the cyanotypes.

The spare aesthetic is a reflection of early years living in the Australian outback, a vary spare place.

Dale says:

"I am not a sailor nor a scout the knots express the transistory nature of our lives through the transitional nature of the state of the rope."
