Cassie was born in Minnesota and now live in the mountains
of Western North Carolina. After receiving his grandfathers camera in high school, Cassie became fascinated with the power of a shutter.
Experimenting with different styles and cameras, she was drawn to the Bromoil process and continues to use this for the majority of her work.

"At a certain point in my work, the Bromoil process becomes a painting...

... Where a photograph is a straight document- defining reality, a painting plays more with my memory and imagination, telling me what to do."

Influenced by the pictorialist's of the early 1900's Cassie shoots landscapes and older moments and still-life that are soon to disappear.
