Bruce is the author of two highly acclaimed food books and has also
written for several cookbooks and food articles. Bruce says: "The human animal holds endless fascination for me. I find it very exciting that with my camera I can capture a fragile instant that will never exist again, a look, a gesture that will never be repeated. I seek to capture the beauty within the individual, the beauty of the moment." Bruce prints his images in toned silver gelatin and in platinum/palladium, a medium he finds particularly revealing of the hidden beauty in a moment, an individual. In June of 2001 Bruce created his first photo web site, a collection of color shots from recent gay pride events called prideview.com. It also contains his other workstudio, travel, and New York street pictures in silver gelatin, platinum/palladium. In his spare time Bruce collects photographs, American Indian jewelry and textiles, and African art.
