Philippe says about his work: "The most important thing for me is the light and the adequation between the poesy and the feeling of the print." Ayral works with both a 5x7" and a 8x10" cameras, and use Tri-X for almost all of his pictures except the "Pontons" series. He develops with Pyro developer. He started using large formats cameras for personal work about 10 years ago, and was taught the techniques by Fred Picker Newsletters. Note on Satista:Satista is an economical hybrid of platinum and silver. This process was created when the price of platinum was high. It's an economic way to produce images which look like platinum and are in between silver and platinum. Some people think that some of Stieglitz prints named platinum were Satista prints.
