Amy Holmes George received her MFA from Clemson University and her BFA from Miami University. During her graduate career, George received the Dr. E. Arthur Dreskin Fellowship to continue her studies overseas. For four months, she lived in Genoa, Italy, and traveled extensively throughout Europe. Currently George teaches photography and digital media as an Assistant Professor in the School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she founded the School’s first study abroad program.

George is the present Chair of the South Central Region for the Society for Photographic Education and also serves on the Board of the Texas Photographic Society. As a photographic artist and educator, she has always maintained special interest in alternative approaches to photographic image-making. George's work is exhibited nationally and has been featured recently at the Soho Photo Gallery in New York City, the Houston Center for Photography, the University of Toledo's Center for the Visual Arts, and the Galveston Art Center.

My work is often driven by an affinity for the human form, and I find myself seeking a figure in almost everything that I photograph.
